Brewing Guide

There are many different ways to brew coffee. You can use an auto-drip brewer, a french press, a chemex, an aero-press, a vacuum pot...and on and on. If you have come across a brewing technique that you love other than the auto-drip or the french press, please let us know and we'd be happy to help you figure out the right proportions of coffee to water. For simplicity's sake, we have included measurements for auto-drip and a fun interactive photo tutorial on how to make a french press. Enjoy!

For an auto drip brewer, we suggest 1 1/2 tablespoons of coffee per cup of water. Remember you can always alter this with more or less coffee according to your tastes!

Here comes the fun part. Below is our photo tutorial on how to make a delicious cup of coffee using the french press brewing method:

For a 4 cup or 8 cup french press:

Coarse Grind

Step One: Get your favorite coffee shop to grind your coffee on a coarse grind. Or you can grind your own at home. We suggest using a burr grinder in order to get the most even grind, which results in a better flavor profile for your coffee.

measure

Step Two: For an 8 cup press, measure 8 tablespoons of coarsely ground coffee and put in the bottom of the press. For a 4 cup press, use 4 cups of coarsely ground coffee. Don't forget that this can be adjusted according to your taste.

pour

Step Three: Pour hot (almost boiling) water over the grounds.

timer

Step Four: Wait four minutes (again, the hardest part). You can do this by using a timer like we do or you can just count one mississippi, two mississippi, three mississippi, until you get to 2400!

stir

Step Five: Stir the grinds while you wait for the coffee to brew

push down lid

Step Six: When the timer goes off, or you get done counting to 2400 mississippi, place the lid on and push the grounds to the bottom of the press.

Pour & Enjoy!

Step Seven: Pour into your favorite mug, take a deep breath and enjoy!
